What We Learned at WSIA Annual Marketplace

Tech Stack Woes. One common thread from business executives is continued dissatisfaction with their existing technology stack. While there was wide variety in the architecture, there was wide agreement that it was not serving the business effectively.
Desire for Prioritization. One capability that would go a long way in driving impact with technology is systematic prioritization. Underwriting talent is increasingly stretched in their daily roles, placing a premium on the need to drive workflow efficiencies. Helping teams focus on the highest priority, most valuable business tops the wishlist for many executives as the right starting point.
Talent Crisis Continues. As we delved into how talent was being stretched, the consensus was not in more strategic ways. Junior team members are doing a lot of administrative work instead of learning the business and building core strategic skillsets. The result: higher churn as people look for professional development elsewhere and more limitations on career paths for those who remain.
